Data Manager > Backup reports or other data to a backup file

The WhisperReporter system backs up data to a industry standard ZIP file. This file can then be saved to a network location or emailed or uploaded for another WhisperReporter user to restore.

Backup Options:

•Current Report - Use this options to backup the currently opened report/template.

•Multiple Reports - Allows you to select multiple reports for backup into a single backup file. You do not have to restore all reports backed up (restore will present a list of the reports in the backup file that you can select to restore).

•Full Database (all data) - Backup the entire database including reports, rapid remarks, picklists, etc. Keep in mind that restoring a full database will completely replace your existing database with the database in the backup file. A backup of a large database will split the backup into multiple files, 500MB each except for the last one. Each file in the set will have the same name but with an extension such as z01, z02, etc, with one of then (the final one with the remaining data) having the zip extension. If you copy the backup to another media, be sure to copy all of the files in the file set.

•RapidRemarks - Use this to backup all or a selection of RapidRemarks.

•Report / Work Views - Use this to backup all or a selection or Report Views and associated Work Views.

•Real Estate Data - Backs up Real Estate companies and agents

•Picklists - Backs up all picklists

•Layouts - Backs up all or a specific set of layouts

•Hints - Backs up all Hints

•Watermarks - Backs up all Watermarks

•Preferences and Settings - Backs up preference settings, toolbar positions, spellcheck custom dictionary, and a few other items.

•Custom Toolbar buttons - Separately backs up any Custom Toolbar buttons you have added. (these are also backed up when backing up Preferences and Settings)

•Image Editor Items - This backs up your Object Shoebox items and saved text used in the Image Editor.
