Sketching Tools > TouchDraw2

TouchDraw2 is a basic but powerful sketch/drawing application that can be purchased and downloaded from the Microsoft store for a very reasonable cost.

After installation of TouchDraw2, you must set the following option within the TouchDraw2 application: File > Preferences > Advanced, then checking the Enable IPC checkbox. This enables the ability for WhisperReporter Ascent to communicate with TouchDraw2 seamlessly.

If you wish to use TouchDraw2 to draw the sketch for a WDI report, you can right click the default grid, such as the one provided in one of our sample WDI templates, and select Reset Diagram Using > Blank TouchDraw2 Drawing. Once the diagram has been replaced, all you need to do is double click the drawing which will launch TouchDraw2. Once done with drawing the sketch, just close TouchDraw2 which will cause WhisperReporter Ascent to save or update the sketch in the database.

If you wish to insert a TouchDraw2 sketch anywhere in a report, you can use the Tools > Insert TouchDraw Sketch menu sequence.
