ApexSketch is a premium application for producing sketches, and is priced as such. WhisperReporter Ascent (64bit version) supports only ApexSketch Version 7 or later. However, the 32bit version of WhisperReporter Ascent can support their older versions, 4 though 6, as well as version 7, but Ascent 32bit version is not recommended in almost all cases (slower and can't support very large images).

ApexSketch installation includes the interface needed for WhisperReporter Ascent to communicate with it, so no configuration is needed.

If you wish to use ApexSketch to draw the sketch for a WDI report, you can right click the default grid, such as the one provided in one of our sample WDI templates, and select Reset Diagram Using > Blank Apex Sketch. Once the diagram has been replaced, all you need to do is double click the drawing which will launch ApexSketch. Once done with drawing the sketch, just close Apex which will cause WhisperReporter Ascent to save or update the sketch in the database.

If you wish to insert an ApexSketch sketch anywhere in a report, you can use the Tools > Insert ApexSketch Sketch menu sequence.
