Linked text tags are used to copy text and images from elsewhere in the report to be repeated where the tag is inserted.  Typically used to create an auto-summary by copying marked items from within the main report to highlight in a summary section.

Description

Tag

Marked as Linked Text

$LinkedText:<qualifier>

Full Topic Comment

$TopicText:<topic checkbox name>

$LinkedText:<qualifier> allows you to selectively include marked text that used the same qualifier when being marked.  This allows you to separate some marked text from others, like minor vs major repairs.

The $LinkedText tag can also  include several switches:

$LInkedText- includes a trailing minus sign to indicate to not include any layout headings.

#$LinkedText includes a leading number sign to indicate that numbered bullets should restart on the first numbered bullet item of any linked text brought over with this tag.

$TopicText:<topic checkbox name> is used when you have a report that uses Topic Checkboxes that might specify that a deficiency exists for example.  If the entire topic comment should be included in the summary, you can specify that any topics that have the Deficiency checkbox checked be included at this tag location.
